Signature Rooms
NestFest is inviting a select group of curators, designers, and creative voices to take on a simple brief: reimagine a room.
This can take the shape of something familiar—a bedroom, dining room, kitchen, or study—or something more conceptual, unexpected, or entirely your own. Either way, we want you to push the boundaries of what a traditional room in a home could look like.
We’re looking for people with a strong point of view to create immersive spaces that stretch what a “room” can be—visually, emotionally, and functionally. These should not feel like showrooms. They should feel personal, expressive, and unexpected—spaces that reflect a perspective as much as a purpose.
Each curator will lead their room, and must bring in collaborators—makers, artists, brands, or partners—to help realize the vision. But the room should feel cohesive and authored, not assembled.
We’ll provide a defined footprint (including two walls) as your canvas. What you do with it is up to you.
This is an invitation to:
Experiment with scale, material, and form
Challenge conventions of how rooms are used or experienced
Create something immersive, memorable, and distinctly your own
Email nester@wweek.com if you’re interested in owning a Signature Room, or would like to get involved through collaboration. Our team will be making a final selection of 4-6 Signature Rooms.
You bring:
A clear point of view, creative direction, and the ambition to turn a familiar room into something entirely new.
We bring:
The space—and a large, engaged audience of designers, architects, builders, retailers, and design-minded Portlanders. We’ll also support your installation with marketing assets, professional photography, promotion across Nester platforms, and a feature in Willamette Week.
This is not a showroom.
It’s a platform—for authorship, experimentation, and visibility within Portland’s design community.
